Monday. The least popular day of the week. This is no surprise considering most people do not look forward to starting the week. Maybe it has something to do with the compulsory transition from relaxation and calm to the grind and chaos of the working week. Or perhaps it is the fact that your to-do-list piles up after two carefree days away from the office.

Regardless of your reasons, I am here to provide you with simple steps that aren’t guaranteed to make you love Monday’s but will make them more bearable.

Go to Bed Early

The secret to making Monday tolerable is to begin before the day rolls around. To set yourself up for the week and start of successful, you should go to bed early. This is a lot harder to put into practice, especially because your sleep schedule is probably messed up from two days of late-night TV binge sessions.

Try to resist the temptation of watching another episode and go to bed earlier so you can start the week feeling refreshed and prepared for whatever Monday has to offer.

Hydration Is Key

We’re all too familiar with that desperate sprint to the nearest cup of coffee. Sometimes you may even feel like you can’t begin to concentrate without your daily dose of caffeine. However, why not swap out your cup of coffee for a glass of water?

Research links a lack of water to chronic dehydration which is the last thing you need. By drinking more water, you can avoid unpleasant symptoms like fatigue, headaches, and dizziness.

Begin with A Task You Enjoy

Start off Monday with a positive mood by ensuring you leave time to do something you enjoy. By completing a task, you enjoy whether this is a walk during your lunch break or even reserving some quiet time for yourself, you will refrain from viewing Monday as a terrible day.
